Hi everyone! I know, I know……long time no post.
After my simultaneous radiation and chemo treatments ended on March 2nd, I needed some time to decompress and focus on recovering before my surgery. This involved lots of sleep, long hot baths, massages, walks, and trying to eat healthy. Ahhhh, sounds pretty good, right?
And, quite frankly, I didn’t feel like blogging during this time. So there you are!

At this stage in my cancer journey, I have had my surgery as of May 29th, and I’m still recouperating. I’ve had some complications post-op and I really had no idea the amount of pain and healing time that is required to feel normal again. I’m SLOWLY getting there, but still miles away.
Nevertheless, so much has happened to me since my last entry, and I feel like I have a lot of valuable information and learning to share with you.
Here are the subjects I am planning to cover in my upcoming posts:
- I’m done with radiation…….so when is my TUMOR going to SHRINK??????
- HELP! I’ve got a swollen lymph node under my arm…….NOW what? (checking for breast issues using thermography technology).
- My Regimen of Supplements, Pampering and Exercise I followed during Radiation/Chemo treatment
- A colonoscopy prep gone HORRIBLY wrong
- Preparing mentally and physically for a temporary Illeostomy bag
- ‘Twas the night before Surgery
- My Surgery Experience
- It Pays to be healthy BEFORE you get sick (what got me through 8 days in a hospital bed)
- Sorry…..you can’t go home. You’ve got an infection (my post-op difficulties)
- What is it like living with a drain in your rear for a month? I’ll tell ya!
- Getting a PIIC line put into my arm
- Yay, I get to go home now…….but you want me to do WHAT???? (learning to give myself IV antibiotics after hospital release)
- Looking at my medical bills is making me SICK (The Financial impact of cancer treatment with an out of network provider)
- My experience of living with an illeostomy bag for a month
- Getting GREAT NEWS from my surgery biopsy report!!!!
- Drain, drain……..go AWAY! (my farewell to Dracula and Igor)
- Facing my fears of getting chemo
- Tricky rules with Short Term Disability in the U.S. I’ve learned
- The scary implications of going into Long Term Disability in the U.S.

As you can see, I’ve got lots to say and share. It’s going to take a while to get through all of these subjects.
So please stay tuned! 🙂
